- Work in a safe environment. Keep your work area clean, properly illuminated, and free from obstacles or distractions.
- Always wear gloves and safety glasses that offer protection based on the materials being used.
- Always place the press on a level and firm surface.
- Properly store press in a safe and dry location to prevent rust or damage.
- Keep press out of the reach of children.
- Do not operate any fruit press when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medications.
- Avoid wearing clothing or jewelry that may become entangled in the moving parts.

- Use the correct press for the job. This press was designed for a specific function. Do not modify or alter this press or use it for any unintended purpose.
- After use, the fruit press should be cleaned thoroughly.
- The threaded shaft should be lightly lubricated with a food grade oil.
- Clean the shaft before and after each use.
- Apply a small amount of food grade lubricating oil to the threads to reduce shaft wear.
- Put the filter screen in the barrel.
- Make sure the spout hose is clamped shut with the shut off clamp to reduce the risk of accidental spills.
- Make sure all the fruit or botanicals are inside the filter bag.
- Prepare the container under the spout hose.
- Slowly turn the crank shaft.
- Pressure will increase as the handle is turned. Liquid is being created!
- Put spout hose inside a container vessel and open clamp to release liquid.
When using wax based materials, the infused solution can begin to solidify before you complete the process of pressing out all the liquid. There are 2 steps you can use to prevent this from happening:
- Preheat the inner and outer buckets by filling them with hot tap water. When ready to put in the material to be pressed, drain the water from the buckets, dry them out quickly and follow the process of installing the filter, filling it with the solution, and the process of pressing.
OR
- After the solution is in the filter bag, buckets, and in the press: Using a hair dryer, carefully blow heated air around the outside of the outer bucket, PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION NOT TO PUT HEAT ON THE FELXIBLE SPOUT TUBE!!! The heat will cause the tube to melt. This should keep the liquid flowing for continued pressing.
(Practice ALL safety measures when working with electricity and liquids.)
Press should be cleaned with dish detergent before and after use.
When working with oil or wax based materials, biodegradable nontoxic cleaners can be used to ease the removal of the oil or wax film. Then, perform a final cleaning with dish detergent.
All moving parts need to be lubricated regularly with food grade lubricant, especially when the press is not used for a long time.
