Thank you to everyone who helped make the Installation Dinner a great success! We all had a lot of fun and we were able to honor and make donations to some wonderful people and local organizations. It was agreed that next year we will continue the program while dinner is being served/eaten instead of breaking for dinner.
Kevin Beck, from My Brother Vinny, came to today's meeting to accept our donation on Paula's behalf, and Geri and Isabel visited Yorktown Community Help and presented them with our donation (see pictures below).
Our guest speaker today was Lynn Briggs, from the Yorktown Landmarks Preservation Commission. Yorktown has a lot of history to preserve! Thank you, Lynn, for visiting us.
It was voted that we are increasing the 2018-19 dues to $225--due before July 1st. $25 of it will go towards the 2019 Installation Dinner and members will pay $50 to attend the dinner.
The golf outing is only 10 days away -- please register and/or be a sponsor if you haven't already.
A vote was taken for the member of the nominating committee for the 2020/21 RI President and Michael McGovern was our winner. He swore Helen L in as our District Governor a few years ago!
David is getting a proposal from an organization that could run the Best & Wurst for us; he will present it to us at next week's meeting.
There is no speaker for next week's meeting as we will focus on the golf outing (next Friday, the 29th) and there is no meeting on July 4th.
